The ILC facilitator on staff at the Alderville
Learning Centre can assist you in discussing options and enrollment
requirements. There are many options available and the ILC courses
and system requirements have been developed to meet varied needs (mature
students, those with special needs). Course exams are written
on-site at the Alderville Learning Centre with a qualified teacher/test
supervisor. Funding may be available to you to cover course costs.

Skills Training
The Learning Centre offers a variety of part-time courses
and workshops. These include computer courses such as MS Excel, MS
Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, FrontPage, and Internet; workshops such
as job search and entrepreneurship, and interest courses such as paddle
making, Ojibway language, sewing, scrap booking, native crafts and pow
wow regalia/dance instruction. We have also provided on-site
certificate courses by area training institutions. Our
courses are constantly changing and are offered on a part-time basis to
better serve the dynamics of our rural community. The Learning
Centre also offers individualized interactive computer training where
the learner works at their own pace.
Resources
Educational Resources range from computer software
programs to books and videos. We have information on
educational programs (including Native specific programs), scholarship
and grant information, careers, youth information, educational software,
videos addressing student issues, and a variety of books.
